Branding is important because it’s everything that represents you, your business and your service or product. It’s what a potential client or customer see’s first before even talking to you; and it’s certainly more than just a logo. First and foremost a name of your brand needs to be chosen, once that has been done the creativity can begin. You’ll want to look more depth into just a logo but the font you’ll use throughout your brand, even down to letterheads and any promotional material; consistency is key.
The same with fonts is the same with colour schemes, finding contrasting and complementary colours makes a big difference to how a client will feel on your website which will lead to physical interaction.
Businesses who develop their own style guides which contains everything they are as a brand, with this guide you could recreate the business overnight. However branding is a loose word in this blog, I should rather say good branding. Good branding will attract good clients. You can’t expect to become a millionaire when looking bankrupt.
This is the same concept for Designers worldwide. You can’t create a modern, trustworthy piece of branding for a client if you’re branding doesn’t scream the same message. You have to better yourself to better others. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing poor branding; yes good design takes time, and clients have a budget, but quality should still be consistent.
